The designer of the home, Sylvia Edenlenbos of Just Drafting Ltd. says, “What I loved about the house was the lot. The big tree, open space and country feeling. That was my inspiration. I had to bring that country feeling into the house. Create a modern farmhouse in the city. By adding a full length covered porch it not only helped to cover some of the stone, but it also created a wonderful space for conversation. Replace the low windows with French doors, and now the outdoors become part of the indoors. I carried that farmhouse feeling throughout the house with the use of shiplap siding, wide oak flooring, vaulted ceilings, and large doors that open to the backyard oasis. Hints of black steel, reclaimed antique accessories, cast iron free standing fireplace and custom raised panel doors to bring this home into the present, with hits of the past.

This home has been transformed but still remains true to the current streetscape.
